Payroll Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete U.S. and international payroll processing for various clients, including international payroll managed through EOR providers.

• Act as the internal payroll subject matter expert, closely collaborating with HR and Accounting/Finance client leaders to facilitate payroll operations across the client portfolio.

• Oversee payroll platforms such as Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, ADP, TriNet, Deel, or comparable systems.

• Ensure the precise processing of wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

• Manage compliance for multi-state payroll, tax filings, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).

• Reconcile payroll reports, benefit invoices, and payroll-related general ledger accounts.

• Collaborate with accounting teams to assist with month-end close activities, including payroll accruals and related reporting.

• Provide support for payroll-related equity compensation processing, encompassing tax withholding and reporting for employee stock programs.

• Assist with payroll setup and termination processes for new hires and departing employees, including prorated pay, final payments, and payroll deductions.

• Coordinate payroll-related benefits deductions, ensuring accurate processing of employee and employer contributions for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.

• Maintain payroll procedures, internal controls, and process enhancements to support scalable payroll operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of U.S. payroll experience, including multi-state payroll management.

• Strong understanding of payroll taxes, wage laws, and compliance requirements.

• Familiarity with payroll systems such as Gusto, Justworks, Rippling, Deel, Sequoia One, or similar platforms.

• Proficient in advanced Excel skills (including lookups, pivots, data validation, and reconciliation workflows).

• Demonstrated experience in payroll reconciliations and audit assistance.

• Experience in supporting payroll operations across multiple clients, entities, or business units.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Experience managing international payrolls through EOR platforms like Deel or Remote.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients.
