This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +3 more states.
• Manage the complete monthly payroll cycles for a designated portfolio of entity and partner payrolls in accordance with country-specific process guidelines and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Facilitate the collection, validation, and submission of data to outsourced vendors and partners.
• Assess vendor draft payrolls and accompanying reports, including gross-to-net calculations, contributions, and employer cost checks and reconciliations.
• Oversee communication with customers and internal stakeholders regarding payroll matters, addressing inquiries from employees, clients, People & Culture, Finance, and other departments.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned countries, staying informed about local payroll laws and statutory requirements.
• Manage cost calculators and gross-to-net tools for entities, ensuring precise billing cost accounting and assisting Finance with payroll cost reconciliations.
• Extensive experience in managing end-to-end payroll operations, including work with outsourced payroll vendors or partners.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple payrolls or entities.
• In-depth legislative and operational payroll expertise in at least one country.
• Capacity to interpret and apply statutory regulations using official guidance and internal resources such as Guru and Confluence.
• Knowledge of gross-to-net calculations, employer and employee social contributions, and overall employer cost concepts.
• Experience in utilizing and maintaining payroll tools, cost calculators, and reconciliation templates.
• Exceptional communication abilities and a strong customer service orientation.
• Proficient in simplifying complex payroll concepts for non-experts in a patient and empathetic manner.
• Keen attention to detail, robust analytical skills, and a structured, process-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Compliance with approval matrices and established procedures.
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
• Located within 2 hours of the Central European Timezone.
• Preferred: experience in a multi-country or high-volume payroll setting.
• Preferred: familiarity with partner/PEO/EOR payroll models and various jurisdictions.
• Preferred: involvement in payroll process enhancements or tool optimization initiatives.
• Preferred: knowledge of knowledge bases like Guru and documentation tools such as Confluence.
