This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Oversee the complete national and international payroll cycle through collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring precise and punctual calculations.
• Process and verify monthly payroll inputs while ensuring accurate adjustments for salary disbursements.
• Reconcile accounting system entries to confirm transaction accuracy.
• Maintain the Humanity time and attendance tool, ensuring proper processing and updates.
• Consult with HR regarding any exceptions and payroll-related issues, escalating urgent matters as necessary.
• Engage with external vendors, pension funds, independent financial consultants, and other relevant parties.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant legal regulations.
• Serve as the primary contact for the payroll provider concerning tax filings when needed.
• Assist the Finance team during audits.
• Address inquiries from team members and business partners regarding compensation, benefits, taxes, and employee insurance.
• Identify, lead, and implement projects aimed at improving payroll processes and systems.
• Provide necessary support to the Human Resources department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Legal authorization to work in the US (citizenship, permanent residence, or work permit).
• Proficiency in English (required).
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in HR or accounting.
• A minimum of 3 years in a comparable role.
• Experience in nonprofit financial operations (required).
• Proven experience in payroll administration (required).
• Proficient in Excel, accounting software (QuickBooks), and data management systems (required).
• Experience with domestic and international PEOs (required).
• Familiarity with G-Suite, Timeco, Asana, and Bamboo (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with problem-solving abilities.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, and comfortable with administrative responsibilities when necessary.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
• Reliable internet connection.
