This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Payroll Operations & Execution: Oversee the complete lifecycle of bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing.

• Employee Self-Service & Offboarding: Oversee the centralized payroll inbox and assist with employee inquiries.

• Benefits & Pension Administration: Manage the ICBA group benefits plan and handle pension reporting and remittances.

• Payroll Taxes, Remittances & Year-End Compliance: Calculate and remit monthly CRA source deductions and oversee workers' compensation filings.

• Accounting Integration & Systems Management: Sustain the GL integration interface and generate payroll variance and GL reports.

• HR Administrative Support: Aid in publishing job postings, organizing interviews, and coordinating candidate communications.

• Organizational Support & Special Projects: Provide administrative assistance to the HR Manager for departmental initiatives and community events.


⛳️ Requirements

• Certification: A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation (or active enrollment with imminent completion) is required.

• Experience: At least 3+ years of direct Canadian full-cycle payroll processing experience, along with 3+ years supporting HR administration and benefits programs.

• Education: A post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field. Specific coursework in accounting is a strong advantage.

• Technical Proficiency: Practical experience with UKG Pro (Payroll/HRIS) and Sage Intacct (or similar enterprise ERPs) is highly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AirTable, Google Workspace, RBC Direct Banking, and ROE Web is essential.

• Knowledge & Expertise: A thorough understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, Employment Standards Acts, CRA regulations, EHT, and provincial workers' compensation systems (BC and AB). Familiarity with Indigenous taxation protocols, Status Card processing, and TD1N filing requirements is a significant asset.

• Interpersonal & Operational Mindset: High emotional intelligence, self-direction, and exceptional organizational skills.
