This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of substantial elements of the biweekly payroll process, which includes conducting pre-payroll audits, validating time and attendance, managing exceptions, confirming payroll accuracy, processing employee changes, and conducting closing activities.
• Independently resolve intricate payroll challenges, such as retroactive adjustments, multi-state taxation issues, timekeeping exceptions, discrepancies in benefit deductions, and issues related to over- or underpayments.
• Facilitate the resolution of payroll issues by providing thorough documentation and ensuring follow-through.
• Conduct comprehensive payroll reconciliations and variance analyses, including reviews of earnings and deductions and validation of payroll registers.
• Assist with general ledger reconciliations and proactively identify payroll-related risks or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance, and other stakeholders to determine root causes and rectify systemic payroll issues.
• Enhance controls, provide support for audits and year-end processing, and implement preventive process improvements.
• Maintain standard operating procedures and analyze recurring errors.
• Mentor members of the Payroll Associate I team.
• Utilize payroll technology, Excel, and AI-driven productivity tools to enhance efficiency, analysis, documentation, and accuracy.
• A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
• In-depth understanding of gross-to-net payroll principles, timekeeping implications, and multi-state compliance considerations.
• Proficient in Excel, including skills in pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data validation.
• Experience in analyzing and manipulating large datasets.
• Practical experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
• Familiarity with ADP Vantage, Workforce, and Workday is highly preferred.
• Capable of independently investigating complex payroll issues, identifying root causes, making informed decisions, and bringing work to completion with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills across teams and exceptional employee support capabilities.
