This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute bi-weekly payroll processes from start to finish by reviewing and reconciling data between Workday and the HR submission file, inputting it into the payroll system, and ensuring completion within specified deadlines.
• Act as the primary contact for all inquiries related to employee payroll.
• Ensure that weekly timesheets are free from exceptions and receive supervisor approval prior to processing.
• Review and compare new hire and termination data between Workday and the HR submission file before each payroll cycle.
• Confirm that changes in the HR submission file are accurately mirrored in Workday.
• Generate, update, and maintain payroll reports for the annual financial audit.
• Conduct the weekly payroll orientation for new hires.
• Assist in the reconciliation and recording of salary and benefits expenditures.
• Establish new state and local tax jurisdictions in Workday and verify the accuracy of these jurisdictions for new hires and employee changes.
• Uphold the integrity of payroll system data.
• Manage garnishments in ADP SmartCompliance and liaise with issuing authorities as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with the People team on payroll reporting and employee requirements.
• Download, archive, and analyze payroll invoices and statements.
• Process and resolve both off-cycle and on-demand payments.
• Mentor and train offshore team members in payroll processing tasks.
• Take on additional responsibilities as the company expands.
• Experience with multi-jurisdiction bi-weekly payroll processing in Workday, including compliance with multi-state tax regulations.
• Over 3 years of comprehensive experience in full-cycle payroll processing, tax filings, and adjustments.
• Familiarity with ADP SmartCompliance for managing tax filings, amended filings, and wage garnishments.
• In-depth understanding of US federal, state, and local withholding tax regulations.
• Strong skills in payroll and payroll taxes, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven history of delivering accurate results in a high-volume payroll setting.
• Experience with processing manual payroll adjustments for both wages and taxes.
• A collaborative team player with excellent customer service abilities.
• Strong critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and effective decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to research tax laws and apply them to payroll and jurisdiction setups.
• Proficient in spreadsheets and databases, comfortable managing large datasets.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Strong organizational abilities.
