Payroll Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the processing of semi-monthly and weekly payroll through Rippling, which includes handling new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, off-cycle payments, garnishments, and retroactive changes.

• Reconcile payroll registers with HRIS and benefits data prior to submission.

• Address discrepancies and aid in accurate month-end reporting alongside the Senior Payroll Specialist.

• Manage employee modifications, compensation updates, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related inputs.

• Help with the setup and registration of multi-state tax withholding.

• Keep an audit trail of process modifications, rate changes, and new state or country registrations.

• Assist with year-end payroll tasks, such as W-2s, W-2c corrections, and ACA reporting.

• Utilize AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance processes.

• Oversee the maintenance of Rippling and Deel payroll systems, ensuring that accurate data is transmitted to Accounting.

• Address payroll tax notifications, unemployment claims, and audit inquiries.

• Ensure the accuracy of payroll Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), controls, and process documentation.

• Collaborate with the Senior Payroll Specialist, as well as teams from Accounting, People, and others.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 2–3 years of payroll experience, preferably with multi-state and/or international exposure.

• Familiarity with essential payroll tax concepts, including FICA and FUTA/SUTA.

• Proficient in Excel, including the use of pivot tables and lookups, and/or Google Sheets.

• Excellent reconciliation skills and a keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication abilities and the capability to collaborate across Accounting, Finance, People, and other departments.

• Good judgment when dealing with confidential compensation, payroll, and personal information.
