This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of US payroll.

• Assist in and/or execute biweekly payroll in line with company policies and US federal, state, and local regulations.

• Examine timekeeping records, earnings, deductions, changes in direct deposit, employee updates, and tax elections.

• Review terminations to ensure compliance with applicable US state final pay timing, deduction, and documentation standards.

• Aid in payroll tax withholding, deductions, filing, and reporting tasks.

• Investigate payroll discrepancies, tax variances, missing information, and timecard issues; resolve routine matters and escalate when necessary.

• Address employee inquiries concerning payroll, taxes, deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, and pay statements.

• Maintain payroll records and assist with reporting, reconciliations, audit requests, compliance documentation, and internal controls.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll tasks, including payroll reconciliations, taxable wage reviews, W-2 assistance, tax notice investigations, and audit documentation.

• Review and prepare escalated off-cycle payroll runs.

• Offer backup payroll support during absences or periods of high volume.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in US payroll processing or payroll support is required.

• An Associate’s Degree or a higher-level degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.

• Proficient understanding of US payroll concepts, including gross-to-net calculations, tax withholdings, taxable wages, deductions, FLSA requirements, terminations, garnishments, year-end reporting, and multi-state compliance.

• Familiarity with US multi-state payroll compliance, state and local tax withholding, unemployment tax, reciprocity rules, paid leave programs, and jurisdiction-specific payroll requirements.

• Experience in supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation, payroll tax reconciliations, taxable wage balancing, and audit documentation.

• Strong analytical, reconciliation, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience with payroll, HRIS, or timekeeping systems; proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, or Workday is preferred.

• Ability to manage confidential payroll information with professionalism, accuracy, and discretion.

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, accountability, and data integrity.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet strict payroll deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment, and align working hours with the Payroll Manager’s 8am-5pm US CT schedule.
