This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete U.S. payroll processing and assist with international payroll tasks.
• Evaluate payroll data to pinpoint discrepancies, investigate underlying causes, and resolve issues accurately and within set timelines.
• Review and confirm payroll inputs, such as earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, tax levies, and one-time payments, ensuring precision and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Analyze payroll reports and conduct payroll reconciliations, including gross-to-net balancing, payroll tax reconciliations, and time-to-payroll reconciliations.
• Manage off-cycle payrolls, payroll adjustments, and employee terminations, ensuring compliance with final pay regulations.
• Consistently meet payroll deadlines by adhering to payroll calendars, checklists, and sign-off processes.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and wage and hour regulations.
• Aid in quarterly and year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 processing, payroll tax reconciliations, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Facilitate internal and external audits by maintaining accurate payroll documentation and records.
• Administer and support Workday Payroll and Time Tracking, including payroll processing, time entry, approvals, and time calculation rules.
• Assist in the configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and enhancement of Workday Payroll and Time Tracking in line with Change Management procedures.
• Maintain payroll and timekeeping reports, including year-to-date earnings, exception reports, and audit reports.
• Collaborate with HRIS and the Payroll Manager on Workday improvements, testing, and releases.
• Monitor, audit, and reconcile timekeeping data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Respond promptly to payroll inquiries from employees and managers while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Act as the backup contact for managing the allotment inbox.
• Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and timekeeping processes through automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain payroll documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation to support consistency and cross-training.
• Engage in cross-functional projects and undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager or Corporate Accounting Team Lead.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive payroll experience, with 3+ years specifically using Workday payroll modules.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll tax compliance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and database creation).
• Proficient in report writing and data analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complexity in a global payroll setting with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
