This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.
• Process, evaluate, and audit payroll primarily for France, while also assisting with payrolls throughout Europe.
• Ensure that payroll output is timely and accurate, adhering to French/local statutory requirements and company policies.
• Collaborate with HR and Talent Acquisition to gather and manage payroll and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate payroll requirements for new hires in France, including support for DPAE/pre-employment declarations and employee payroll registration data.
• Work with payroll vendors on French statutory reporting and payments, including monthly and event-based DSN reporting.
• Review French pay slips and payroll outputs, covering gross-to-net calculations, contributions, tax withholding, benefits, reimbursements, leave balances, overtime, and variable pay.
• Monitor, reconcile, and coordinate payroll-related payments and filings.
• Act as the primary contact for employee inquiries related to France payroll.
• Liaise with payroll vendors, HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, and government agencies.
• Assist the US Corporate Headquarters with research on French/EU payroll laws, customs, statutory reporting, and compliance.
• Maintain payroll procedures, checklists, audit support, controls, reports, signoffs, and filing confirmations.
• Identify and implement improvements in payroll accuracy, controls, employee experience, vendor performance, and systems integration.
• Escalate payroll issues to the Senior Director of Global Payroll.
• Collaborate across teams and time zones in a dynamic environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting, HR, or a related field.
• 4+ years of payroll experience, including a minimum of 2+ years in hands-on France payroll processing or oversight.
• Experience in payroll-related functions within France, including working with an outsourced French payroll provider.
• Proficient in payroll software, HRIS, Microsoft Excel, outsourced payroll provider portals, and payroll file review.
• Native French speaker with fluency in English.
• At least business-level proficiency in spoken and written English.
• In-depth knowledge of French statutory payroll requirements, such as DPAE/pre-employment declarations, monthly DSN and event-based DSN reporting, social insurance, and income tax withholding at source.
• Understanding of French pay slip requirements and payroll outputs, including gross-to-net calculations, employee and employer social contributions, taxable and social net amounts, reimbursements, benefits, leave, sick leave, maternity/paternity, work accidents, and termination payroll items.
• Awareness of how French collective bargaining agreements and local policies influence payroll items.
• Strong ability to handle protected data and maintain confidentiality.
• Preferred: payroll-related experience in Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and the UK.
• Preferred: experience in implementing new payroll software/technology.
• Experience with Cloudpay is advantageous.
