Payment Posting & Reconciliation Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Supervise cash posting and payment reconciliation processes, which include ERA/835 processing, manual EOB posting, and lockbox reconciliation.

• Assess AI-generated payment posting outputs, ERA matching suggestions, and reconciliation reports for their accuracy and completeness.

• Oversee electronic and manual payment posting workflows involving various payers and types of payments.

• Reconcile posted payments with bank deposits, lockbox reports, and payer remittances.

• Detect and rectify posting errors, misapplied payments, and unapplied cash.

• Track cash posting KPIs such as posting accuracy rates, days to post, unapplied cash balances, and reconciliation variance.

• Collaborate with billing, accounts receivable, and finance teams to address payment discrepancies and guarantee timely cash closure.

• Ensure adherence to internal controls, HIPAA, and auditing requirements related to cash handling.

• Document AI outputs and provide structured feedback to assist in training datasets for AI.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cash posting, payment reconciliation, or revenue cycle operations.

• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial position.

• Extensive knowledge of ERA/835 electronic remittance processing, EOB interpretation, and lockbox reconciliation.

• Strong comprehension of payer payment methods and remittance adjustment reason codes.

• Experience overseeing high-volume payment posting operations across multiple payers.

• Proficient in billing systems and payment posting platforms (Epic, Athenahealth, or equivalent).

• Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills.

• High attention to detail with the capability to identify posting errors and discrepancies in AI-generated payment outputs.

• Preferred certifications include CRCR, CPC, or CHFP.

• Experience with automated ERA posting platforms and RPA-driven cash posting solutions is preferred.

• Background in cash posting operations within hospitals or physician groups with multi-payer complexity is preferred.

• Familiarity with AI tools and comfort in evaluating AI-generated remittance and payment content is preferred.

• Experience in developing cash posting SOPs and internal control frameworks is preferred.

• Must be eligible to work in the USA.
