Patient Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.

📋 Description

• Assist in the admission process for new patients by gathering and inputting precise demographic and clinical details.

• Confirm insurance coverage and assess benefits.

• Submit authorizations and follow up as necessary.

• Examine prescription validity and pinpoint any missing or required documentation.

• Engage with patients and referral sources to collect necessary intake information.

• Collaborate with internal departments to facilitate a prompt start of care.

• Ensure the maintenance of accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Prior experience in a customer service or patient services role within the healthcare sector.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Comfortable handling multiple intake cases at the same time.

• Capable of working autonomously in a remote setting.

• Familiarity with healthcare documentation and insurance processes.

• Ability to maintain a quiet and dedicated workspace, free from background noise and distractions.

• Competence in participating in virtual meetings with a professional appearance, ready for the camera.

• Excellent time-management skills, accountability, and self-motivation.

• Access to reliable, high-speed internet.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office management, or insurance assistance.

• Preferred experience with insurance verification or authorizations.

• Background in home health, DME, or medical office is advantageous.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
