Patient Financial Services Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Offer financial counseling to patients regarding Essentia Health services, both in-person and virtually.

• Guide patients in understanding payment options, Medicaid eligibility, and financial assistance programs.

• Conduct self-pay liability price estimates.

• Evaluate accounts to create, develop, and implement action plans.

• Educate guarantors and assist in resolving their financial obligations.

• Support patient inquiries received through the Patient Financial Services call center.

• Strive to surpass patient expectations and foster a positive working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in registration, coding, insurance billing and payment processes, self-pay collections, along with outstanding customer service skills.

• Completion of trade courses in accounting, business, and/or communications would be advantageous for this role.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Financial Counseling, Self-Pay Collections, Call Center, Billing, and/or Healthcare.
