This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee patient-centered drug development as a strategic leader integrated within a sponsor's clinical development team.
• Incorporate the patient perspective throughout the entire development lifecycle, from early molecule strategy to clinical execution and evidence generation.
• Formulate global strategies for designing patient-focused trials, enhancing patient experiences, and generating patient-centered evidence.
• Create patient recruitment and retention strategies on the sponsor side during clinical development planning and execution.
• Leverage patient journey analytics, inclusion frameworks, and co-designed engagement initiatives to boost recruitment, minimize participant burden, and enhance trial satisfaction.
• Promote representation and inclusion across various therapeutic areas and geographical locations.
• Spearhead enterprise-wide change management to expand patient engagement capabilities, standardize best practices, and modernize the clinical trial experience.
• Collaborate across functions including Clinical Operations, Clinical Research, Regulatory, Data Science, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Commercial, and Corporate Affairs.
• Offer strategic insights into policy and regulatory initiatives concerning PFDD, PFMD, the 21st Century Cures Act, PDUFA VII, digital health, and real-world evidence.
• Engage with patient advocacy groups, caregivers, and external stakeholders to foster long-term trust and advocacy.
• Integrate patient insights into protocol design, endpoint selection, and overall development strategy.
• Enhance recruitment and retention through patient-centric trial design.
• Establish consistent, scalable, and measurable patient engagement strategies across all programs.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in patient engagement, patient recruitment, or patient-centric clinical trial strategy within a pharmaceutical company.
• Direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry is essential.
• Proven track record of influencing cross-functional leaders and driving enterprise-level change.
• Comprehensive understanding of global clinical development, regulatory frameworks, and operational decision-making processes.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement global, multi-functional patient engagement initiatives.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating complex scientific and regulatory concepts into clear strategic frameworks.
• Practical experience leading patient engagement and recruitment strategies within a pharmaceutical setting.
• Experience limited to CROs, investigative sites, agencies, or service providers does not fulfill the requirements.
• Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with digital health solutions, real-world data, and patient engagement technology is preferred.
• Prior experience leading large-scale global clinical development programs or transformation initiatives is preferred.
