This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +10 more states.
• Define and enhance HOKA’s global brand voice, verbal identity, product storytelling, editorial vision, and standards of creative excellence.
• Drive narratives for global brand campaigns, product initiatives, seasonal projects, and significant brand experiences.
• Develop messaging architectures, naming strategies, and verbal systems.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a high-performing team of writers.
• Assess team structure and resource needs, including internal talent, freelancers, and agencies.
• Promote an inclusive and collaborative creative culture.
• Transform global brand, business, product, and marketing initiatives into a multi-year editorial strategy.
• Collaborate with senior leaders across Brand, Product, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, Digital, Social, Communications, and Regional teams.
• Articulate creative strategy, recommendations, and business rationale to creative teams, leaders, and executives.
• Oversee integrated storytelling across film, photography, digital, social, retail, e-commerce, CRM, print, experiential, and emerging platforms.
• Incorporate AI-driven thinking and tools into the copy discipline.
• Provide creative guidance from strategy and concept development through production and toolkit delivery.
• Ensure verbal expression aligns with standards for clarity, cultural relevance, accuracy, tone, craft, and global consistency.
• Direct copy-discipline priorities, staffing, resource allocation, and scopes for external partners.
• Identify capacity constraints, delivery risks, and competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 10 years of experience in agency and brand advertising, brand marketing, editorial, publishing, or an in-house creative organization.
• Experience ideally within the sport, lifestyle, footwear, or another culture-driven industry.
• Substantial experience leading a Copy, Editorial, Content, Product storytelling, Campaign, or Brand Storytelling function within a complex, global, or matrixed organization.
• Proven experience managing senior creative talent, establishing departmental priorities, overseeing resources and budgets, influencing senior cross-functional stakeholders, and achieving results through a team.
• A portfolio showcasing strategic insight, bold campaigns, distinctive creative thinking, world-class writing, verbal identity development, and culturally relevant storytelling across global consumer touchpoints.
• Exceptional command of English, including writing, editing, verbal identity, and narrative structure.
• Strong strategic, conceptual, and commercial thinking abilities.
• Skills in people leadership, coaching, performance management, resource planning, and organizational design.
• Excellent judgment, decisiveness, presentation, stakeholder influence, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize complex global initiatives, navigate ambiguity, manage change, and build trust within a matrixed organization.
• Cultural curiosity and understanding of advertising, running, sport, fashion, entertainment, technology, and emerging creative tools.
• Practical knowledge of integrating AI into copy team workflows.
• Must reside in Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, or Washington.
