Director, Design – Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee and provide construction support for all new locations within the WellBiz Brands portfolio.

• Supervise remodel and refresh initiatives.

• Manage vendors throughout projects and supervise architectural and permitting procedures.

• Evaluate construction drawings, renderings, general contractor schedules and quotes, vendor estimates, and site images.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Real Estate, Design, Operations, NSO, and Creative/Marketing to ensure locations adhere to brand standards.

• Assist franchise owners through the construction processes, timelines, and communications with stakeholders.

• Collaborate with franchisees and internal teams to provide guidance and updates on ongoing projects.

• Participate in and facilitate weekly status calls with franchise owners, architects, vendors, and the NSO team.

• Manage site surveys, construction documentation, permits, signage, and project vendors from initiation to completion.

• Review and redline architectural and MEP construction documents.

• Approve exterior signage and interior graphics.

• Monitor project milestones and construction-related timelines in reporting systems.

• Organize and maintain files related to construction, architecture, and permitting projects.

• Support value engineering for each brand’s buildout.

• Coordinate remodels, refreshes, and project launches for new product and service innovations.

• Supervise assigned direct reports, including Construction Managers, Project Managers, and/or Design Planners.

• Provide feedback, conduct annual performance reviews, and fulfill other managerial duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

• At least 5-7 years of experience in franchise systems and managing projects owned by franchisees.

• Demonstrated success in a construction management or project management capacity.

• Comprehensive understanding of the construction and site development process with experience in team management.

• Strong grasp of fundamental architectural design principles, practices, and codes.

• Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills across all areas of project development.

• Capacity to work independently and be self-motivated while also collaborating effectively in a team setting.

• Proven ability to communicate professionally and cultivate strong internal and external relationships.

• Experience with FranConnect, Smartsheets, Construction Management, and Architectural software is highly desirable.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize tasks and schedules.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
