This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Assist patients of HarmonyCares through the centralized Patient Contact Center.
• Deliver outstanding customer service for incoming inquiries from both external and internal sources.
• Address medication refill calls during the initial contact or redirect/escalate them according to established protocols.
• Work alongside the Prescription Renewal service team to ensure accurate and timely processing of renewal requests.
• Input prescription renewal requests into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and examine patient records for any discrepancies.
• Adhere to renewal protocols regarding medication quantities and refills.
• Recognize and escalate medication issues that fall outside of established protocols.
• Enhance refill service workflows and procedures.
• Keep accurate documentation in the EMR and comply with prescription renewal policies.
• Perform assigned opening and closing shift responsibilities.
• Update patient information, pharmacies, and medication lists as necessary.
• Provide backup support to Patient Advocates when required.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations and all applicable state and federal laws.
• Address patient complaints, grievances, and concerns effectively.
• Collaborate with care teams to foster quality patient care and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
• Valid and unrestricted pharmacy license or the necessary training/certification in accordance with state regulations.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a pharmacy technician position.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, their families, and facility staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven track record of establishing effective communication with all staff levels.
• Competent in reading, writing, and mathematics; capable of multitasking and performing well in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with pharmacy technician protocols.
• At least 1 year of experience in a call center environment.
• Experience with EMR or pharmacy systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
