Patient Access Specialist II – Practice Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Address a substantial number of appointment requests.

• Manage phone calls, emails, work queues, and various electronic communications.

• Arrange necessary medical examinations, procedures, and tests.

• Gather demographic details when necessary.

• Complete the insurance registration process.

• Simultaneously navigate various computer applications and systems.

• Independently resolve complex customer issues.

• Balance competing priorities while ensuring accuracy and exceptional service.

• Provide support or mentorship to new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred.

• A minimum of 2 years experience in customer service, patient access, healthcare administration, or a similar service-oriented role.

• Basic computer skills required.

• Strong customer service abilities and telephone etiquette.

• Capacity to manage complex customer interactions and resolve issues independently.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to exhibit empathy, professionalism, patience, and active listening.

• Capability to handle competing priorities while ensuring precision and service excellence.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience with navigating multiple computer applications and systems concurrently.

• Willingness to learn new systems, workflows, and processes.

• Preferred experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of medical scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or prior authorization processes.

• Experience in mentoring or assisting new team members.

• Must reside in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, or Texas.
