Patient Access Specialist II – Practice Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Handle a significant number of appointment requests through phone calls, emails, work queues, and other electronic communications.

• Arrange necessary medical examinations, procedures, and tests.

• Gather demographic information and register insurance when applicable.

• Independently address and resolve complex customer issues.

• Efficiently navigate various computer applications and systems at the same time.

• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while ensuring accuracy and high-quality service.

• Provide mentorship or assistance to new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

• At least 2 years of experience in customer service, patient access, healthcare administration, or a similar service-oriented role.

• Basic computer skills are required.

• Strong customer service abilities and professional phone etiquette.

• Capability to manage complex customer interactions and resolve issues independently.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to exhibit empathy, professionalism, patience, and active listening.

• Competence in managing competing priorities while ensuring precision and service excellence.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with navigating multiple computer applications and systems concurrently.

• Willingness to learn new systems, workflows, and processes.

• Knowledge of medical scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or prior authorization processes.

• Preferred: Experience in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Preferred: Experience in a healthcare setting.

• Experience in mentoring or supporting new team members is a plus.
