This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the initial point of contact for patients at Mercy.
• Assist with all aspects of patient entry into Mercy facilities.
• Arrange patient services as needed.
• Handle patient registration processes.
• Confirm patient benefits.
• Complete pre-certification and ensure financial clearance.
• Collect payments prior to visits.
• Acquire and accurately input patient information into records.
• Stay informed and proficient regarding insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards.
• Provide customer service and compassionate care that aligns with Mercy's mission, values, and service expectations.
• Preferred 1-3 years of clerical and customer service experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is advantageous.
• A High School diploma is mandatory.
• Some college education is beneficial.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Excellent telephone manners are required.
• Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with patients, physicians, clinical and non-clinical hospital staff, and insurance companies.
• Proficient knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and relevant federal, state, and accreditation standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail is crucial.
• No specific certifications are necessary.
