Patient Access Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the initial contact for patients, embodying Mercy's commitment to exceptional customer service and compassion.

• Oversee all aspects of patients’ entry into Mercy facilities.

• Arrange patient services efficiently.

• Enroll patients into the system.

• Confirm patient benefits.

• Complete pre-certification and financial clearance processes, including pre-visit collections.

• Collect and accurately enter patient information into medical records.

• Stay informed and proficient regarding insurance providers, Medicare regulations, and federal, state, and accreditation standards.

• Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, clinical and non-clinical hospital personnel, and insurance organizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred 1–3 years of clerical and customer service experience.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance plans is advantageous.

• A high school diploma is required; some college education is beneficial.

• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

• Demonstrated excellent telephone etiquette.

• Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with patients, healthcare providers, clinical and non-clinical staff, and insurance representatives.

• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and execute daily tasks with precision.

• Proficiency in using various computer systems.

• Capability to operate a 10-key calculator and computer keyboard.

• Physical ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during each shift.

• Skills to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary.
