This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oklahoma.
• Oversee operations and personnel across various Patient Access Services functional areas.
• Prioritize and coordinate patient flow to ensure effective service delivery.
• Guide, coach, mentor, and provide performance evaluations to hospital-level supervisors.
• Act as the main resource and escalation point for intricate patient access challenges, staffing issues, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and operational check-ins with hospital-level supervisors.
• Foster the development of supervisors in areas such as staff management, performance documentation, conflict resolution, and process enhancement.
• Set team performance objectives, monitor benchmarks, and encourage accountability and ongoing improvement.
• Create and maintain an access management training program along with regular in-service education sessions.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to admissions and registration complaints.
• Ensure effective controls over cash collections and accurate payment processing.
• Manage staffing patterns and allocate departmental tasks.
• Oversee internal and external customer relations and resolve escalated issues.
• Coordinate departmental activities with other hospital divisions.
• Ensure that Charity Care is applied in accordance with 501R rules and regulations.
• Serve as a liaison for hospital admission policies and procedures.
• Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly key performance indicator reports to senior management.
• Analyze performance data, identify trends, address deficiencies, and drive improvements.
• Enhance knowledge of registration systems to optimize processing efficiency and timeliness.
• Establish and implement goals and objectives for Patient Access Services.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, privacy practices, patient confidentiality, and patient rights.
• Participate in new employee training and orientation, departmental meetings, committees, projects, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Achieve revenue targets while minimizing bad debt losses due to inadequate registration information.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of management experience in Patient Access Services.
• Familiarity with hospital and physician access management processes.
• Demonstrated leadership aligned with the organization's core values.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• A mature approach to problem-solving across various issues.
• Proficient in using mainframe and PC systems.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience with total quality management concepts and tools.
• Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) designation through NAHAM is to be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
• Capability to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
• Good vision, including close vision, distance vision at 20 ft. or more, and the ability to observe areas moving up/down or left/right.
• Travel is required.
