This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Register patients by confirming their identification, demographic details, and insurance coverage.
• Coordinate appointments and surgical procedures.
• Validate clinical, financial, and insurance information during the pre-registration phase.
• Accept payments at the point of service and offer guidance regarding payment options.
• Accurately input patient data into hospital information systems.
• Direct patients with questions about financial liabilities to the appropriate resources.
• Accept medical authorization or referral documents when necessary.
• Process essential documents to gather insurance information.
• Provide estimates for out-of-pocket expenses.
• Educate patients and their families on using registration kiosks or online systems.
• Identify common issues and escalate them to the Lead Patient Access Concierge.
• Ensure patients are cleared for service delivery.
• High school diploma.
• 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting, insurance company, managed care organization, or other healthcare financial service environments, focusing on medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting, or customer service roles.
• Equivalent customer service experience from another industry may be considered.
• Preferred knowledge of insurance and government programs, regulations, and billing practices (such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Champus, and Supplemental Security Income Disability), as well as managed care contracts and coordination of benefits.
• Working familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and medical record coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) is preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong data entry capabilities and organizational skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, the ability to work independently, and effective time management skills.
