Partner – General Liability, Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to clients regarding business transactions, assess liability, and advise on the merits of pursuing or defending lawsuits, as well as legal rights and obligations.

• Effectively manage cases from inception to conclusion, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, and trial preparation, while overseeing associates and support staff.

• Select jurors, present motions, engage with judges, and question witnesses throughout the trial process.

• Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations, predicting potential case outcomes for both individuals and businesses.

• Represent clients in court or in front of governmental agencies, articulating and summarizing cases to judges and juries.

• Collect evidence to build defenses or initiate legal actions, assess findings, and devise strategies and arguments for case presentations.

• Conduct thorough legal research and produce comprehensive briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate documents.

• Maintain deadlines and manage assignments with a strong sense of ownership and autonomy.

• An annual billable target of 1950 hours is expected.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in general liability and insurance defense.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice in [State] (additional states are advantageous).

• Experience in negotiations and mediations.

• Excellent analytical, research, and communication abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
