Partner – General Liability, Insurance Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to clients regarding business transactions, determining liability, and assessing the merits of pursuing or defending legal actions or rights and responsibilities.

• Manage cases autonomously from inception to conclusion, encompassing pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediation, and trial preparation.

• Oversee associates and support staff.

• Select jurors, advocate for motions, engage with judges, and interrogate witnesses during trials.

• Evaluate and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations while estimating potential case outcomes.

• Advocate for clients in court and before governmental bodies; present and summarize cases for judges and juries.

• Collect evidence, devise defenses or initiate legal proceedings, assess findings, and create case strategies.

• Conduct thorough legal research and produce comprehensive briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate documents.

• Handle deadlines and assignments with accountability and autonomy.

• Play a role in hiring, budgeting, compliance, and the overall growth and strategic direction of the firm.

• Provide leadership across the firm's legal and business operations and coordinate operational requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in general liability and insurance defense.

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice in [State] (additional states are advantageous).

• Proven experience in negotiations and mediations.

• Exceptional analytical, research, and communication abilities.

• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Requirement of an annual billable target of 1950 hours.
