This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Cultivate significant relationships with around 250–300 mid-level donors contributing between $1K and $5K.
• Oversee the Sustaining Partner program for donors who contribute $1K or more annually.
• Nurture current donors up to $5K and encourage increased financial contributions.
• Develop and implement personalized donor interactions through various channels such as email, phone calls, letters, and video meetings.
• Set individual giving objectives and create stewardship/ask strategies tailored to donor interests, motivations, history, and capacity.
• Carry out donor engagement strategies aimed at enhancing average gifts and boosting donor retention.
• Spearhead growth and relational engagement initiatives for Sustaining Partners and The Thread recurring-giving programs.
• Identify and assess donors with the potential for major gifts of $10K or more.
• Prepare qualified prospects for inclusion in major-gift portfolios.
• Assist in prospect identification, research, qualification, donor profiling, and briefing documentation.
• Support event strategies for the President, Board, President’s Council, and major donor gatherings.
• Keep constituent records up-to-date and provide monthly reports on interactions, meetings, updates, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate on strategic initiatives, annual budgets, and donor communication plans.
• Remain informed about fundraising best practices, focusing on mid-level giving, major donations, sustaining programs, prospect research, non-cash asset contributions, and planned giving.
• Undertake additional job-related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 5 years of experience in fundraising, particularly with mid- and major-gift initiatives.
• Experience in Christian nonprofit organizations.
• Proficiency in cultivating mid- and major-donor relationships and crafting proposals.
• Demonstrated success in building donor relations through giving circles/clubs and personal engagement, leading to multiple annual contributions of $1K-$5K and above.
• Strong skills in relationship-building and the ability to encourage donors toward deeper involvement and increased contributions.
• Experience in retaining and upgrading donors through tailored cultivation and solicitation efforts.
• Capability to manage a substantial portfolio and establish scalable systems for impactful donor interactions.
• Expertise in both digital and personal donor engagement techniques.
• Proficient in utilizing CRM data and technology to prioritize and organize donor outreach.
• Ability to identify, assess, and nurture emerging major-gift prospects.
• Capacity to authentically represent the ministry’s mission, vision, and values.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel approximately six times a year.
