Partner Development Manager – Strategic Payment Partnerships

📋 Description

• Take ownership and expand key partnerships with payment methods, concentrating on strategic wallets, BNPL providers, and associated payment partners.

• Oversee daily partner relationships and distribution efforts.

• Direct specific commercial and product initiatives within Stripe.

• Manage go-to-market strategies and enablement for payment method partners, products, and/or regions.

• Develop and implement plans to enhance payment method distribution and adoption among Stripe’s user base.

• Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to align shared objectives through milestones, performance metrics, and collaborative opportunities.

• Leverage industry and partner insights to shape partnership and product strategies.

• Execute agreements and initiatives that align with Stripe’s product and business objectives.

• Collaborate with Risk, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams on partner initiatives and product strategies.

• Work alongside Sales, Product Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing to create enablement materials and promote adoption.

• Identify and educate partner stakeholders who can advocate for Stripe and align their teams with Stripe’s goals.

• Establish clear objectives, streamline processes, and enhance execution.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, go-to-market strategies, corporate development, payments, or a related discipline.

• Proven track record of managing partner relationships, channel or distribution initiatives, and/or cross-functional commercial programs from planning to execution.

• Experience leading commercial discussions or negotiations utilizing established deal strategies and frameworks, with the discernment to assess trade-offs and know when to escalate issues.

• Background in a product-centric environment with significant internal and external dependencies.

• Preference for candidates with experience in payments, payment methods, wallets, BNPL, or financial services.

• Strong analytical and operational capabilities, including goal and metric definition, managing multiple workstreams, maintaining efficient processes, and leveraging performance data to enhance execution.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling the ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across various functions.

• High level of agency and comfort in ambiguous situations, along with the judgment to seek input, foster alignment, and escalate when necessary.
