Partner Development Manager, Financial Partnership Capabilities

📋 Description

• Develop and implement product partnership strategies and collaborative initiatives with Stripe’s essential card network partners, focusing on new offerings that benefit Stripe users.

• Identify, assess, and advocate for significant partnership opportunities.

• Create commercial models, partnership strategies, and distribution plans for innovative product capabilities and market entry approaches.

• Take the lead on intricate, high-stakes negotiations with card network partners independently.

• Establish scalable deal structures and partnership frameworks across various partners, products, or markets.

• Influence both internal product and go-to-market teams as well as external partner stakeholders.

• Oversee cross-functional workstreams involving Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Treasury.

• Address complex stakeholder conflicts and align differing priorities, requirements, commercial factors, and timelines.

• Evaluate Stripe and partner preparedness, highlight risks and dependencies, and advocate for informed decision-making.

• Ensure the smooth functioning of daily partnership operations while adhering to risk and compliance requirements.

• Represent Stripe at partner and industry events, fostering relationships with senior partner stakeholders.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 12 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or a related area.

• More than 5 years of experience in payments, card networks, or a related financial services sector.

• Proven experience with card issuing products, issuer-facing capabilities, or product partnerships related to issuing.

• In-depth understanding of card network dynamics, business models, and the payments ecosystem.

• Extensive experience in crafting and executing industry-wide partnership strategies, product strategies, or go-to-market models that yield significant impact across multiple partnerships.

• Expertise in defining and leading complex partnership strategies that require alignment among product, commercial, operational, and technical stakeholders.

• Proven ability to independently manage complex, high-impact commercial negotiations while balancing trade-offs in economics, product capabilities, timelines, and strategic goals.

• Experience in product-centric environments with considerable internal and external dependencies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders both internally and externally across a diverse range of functions, including C-suite leaders.
