Part-Time Faculty, Doctorate of Social Work Mentor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Deliver exceptional instruction utilizing a pre-established curriculum

• Mentor doctoral students and engage in doctoral committees

• Offer constructive feedback to facilitate successful completion

• Be accessible within 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays, via phone, email, and in the courseroom

• Travel across the US to attend doctoral residencies

• Leverage the online learning platform to enhance the educational experience

• Set high standards and clarify evaluation criteria

• Comply with University policies and procedures

• Participate in faculty meetings, workshops, and training as necessary

• Engage in additional activities as dictated by university needs

• Facilitate asynchronous discussions in 10-week courses and provide feedback on assignments

• Assist learners in their academic journey, study habits, and timely completion

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in the discipline is required for undergraduate-level instruction, and three years for graduate-level

• Research, scholarship, or notable achievement in the discipline is required for graduate-level instruction

• For doctoral-level roles, experience in conducting and overseeing research in the discipline is mandatory

• Knowledge of qualitative research is essential

• A master’s degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and a regionally accredited institution is required

• A doctorate from an accredited institution in social work or a closely related field is necessary

• All degrees must be awarded by a regionally accredited institution

• Must possess a graduate-level Social Work license

• Must secure, at a minimum, a Graduate Level Social Work licensure in the State of Minnesota upon hire, including passing the ASWB exam with their current graduate-level license

• Experience in scholarly writing and familiarity with APA (7th edition) format is required

• Proven knowledge of academic evaluation processes

• Strong oral presentation skills, along with planning and organizing course objectives

• Excellent oral and written communication abilities

• Demonstrated proficiency with academic technology

• Strong computer skills are essential

• Capability to manage potentially stressful situations in a professional and ethical manner

• Understanding of the unique needs and expertise of each student

• Commitment to fulfilling the expectations and requirements of a diverse student body

• Ability to adhere to established case management protocols for at-risk learners

• Must be willing to travel occasionally within the US

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States

• Must be able to access information using a computer and work from a setting equipped with a computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, and video conferencing capability
