This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee a caseload of up to 50 students in alignment with the HelloCollege program framework and counselor service level agreements.
• Ensure students advance through the HelloCollege curriculum, reach significant milestones, and complete the program successfully.
• Maintain a contact rating of 90%, a retention rate of 95%, and a utilization rate of 80%.
• Contribute to referrals, testimonials, consultations, and online feedback.
• Conduct college planning meetings with students and their parents via video conferencing.
• Identify family needs, offer college planning advice, and connect families with the suitable HelloCollege program.
• Establish positive and enduring relationships with families.
• Track communications and milestones within the HelloCollege portal.
• Facilitate and conduct up to four online workshops monthly.
• Stay informed about trends in higher education and college planning.
• Engage in team meetings, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and shadowing activities.
• Contribute to fostering a positive company culture and supporting company growth.
• Availability for part-time work, averaging 25–30 hours per week when the caseload is at capacity.
• A Master’s degree or College Counseling certification is highly preferred.
• Required experience in highly selective and Ivy League college counseling, college admissions, school counseling, or student advising.
• Proven track record of assisting students in gaining admission to Top 25 and Top 50 universities.
• Capability to support affluent, high-achieving clients while promoting their academic and personal growth.
• Comprehensive knowledge of selective and highly selective colleges and universities across the United States.
• Ability to connect with students and parents from various academic, ethnic/racial, and financial backgrounds.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in collaborating and building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Strong case management capabilities, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities, including writing blog posts and participating in research projects.
• Proficient technological skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Quick adaptability to learn new programs and systems.
• Experience in public speaking and facilitating events is an advantage.
• Availability for evening work from 3 PM to 9 PM PST.
• Required to work 1–2 Saturdays each month during the application season (August to November).
• Preference for applicants located in MST or PST time zones due to scheduling considerations.
• Experience working with students with learning differences.
• Outgoing personality with a strong presence on the phone and during presentations, along with a passion for helping students, adaptability, flexibility, motivation, and a results-oriented mindset.
