This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute clinical documentation responsibilities while achieving project productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Comply with AHIMA and ACDIS coding standards and clinical documentation enhancement protocols.
• Assess clinical documentation and generate queries as necessary.
• Examine medical records for thoroughness and precision concerning illness severity and mortality risk.
• Conduct precise and prompt record evaluations.
• Utilize knowledge of DRG payer challenges, documentation improvement opportunities, and clinical documentation mandates.
• Evaluate findings and pinpoint potential root causes of inaccuracies.
• Partner with physicians, nursing personnel, patient caregivers, and medical records coding staff to enhance documentation quality, specificity, accuracy, and completeness.
• Experience with remote work, utilizing EMRs and other digital tools.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Capability to work with numerical data.
• Capacity to manage multiple and varied clients and projects.
• Ability to operate with minimal oversight.
• Proficient in maintaining and accessing several files.
• High accuracy levels and meticulous attention to detail.
• CCDS, CDEI, or CDIP certification is mandatory.
• Current clinical license (RN, NP, PA, MD) is required.
• Minimum of two years of CDI experience.
• Preferably two years or more of clinical experience in an acute care environment.
• Coding professional with CCS or RHIT/RHIA and CDI credential; at least three years of CDI experience in inpatient CDI reviews is essential.
