This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as a knowledgeable consultant, assisting customers in strategizing and developing technical solutions for their monitoring requirements.
• Analyze specifications for transformers and circuit breakers, single-line diagrams, customer best practices, and system integration needs, transforming them into product specifications.
• Collaborate with sales teams during customer calls, presentations, bid meetings, and site visits.
• Create technical proposals that adhere to customer specifications, working closely with engineering, product managers, and proposal managers.
• Tailor and deliver technical papers and presentations at conferences, to customers, and internally to support sales or service efforts.
• Supply competitive intelligence and customer feedback to product technology and service teams.
• Connect customers with services, marketing, engineering, and product development teams.
• Offer product and application training to customers, sales personnel, TAE, Customer Service, and Field Services teams.
• Guide customers in designing, commissioning, and testing new products, solutions, and pilot projects.
• Assist customers in configuring and troubleshooting M&D product integrations employing DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, and other communication protocols.
• Evaluate monitoring equipment results and suggest actions or modifications to settings.
• Acquire knowledge of complementary GE Vernova Grid Automation product lines and connect customers with those product teams.
• Monitor issues identified during demonstrations, evaluations, testing, and pilot projects until they are resolved with the Technology team.
• Recognize training opportunities and take ownership of personal development and the training of others.
• Assess large customer fleets of monitoring equipment and pinpoint product upgrade opportunities for outdated products.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or technology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in industrial and utility monitoring and diagnostics, specifically involving transformers, circuit breakers, related software applications, and the communication of monitoring devices to customer systems, including hands-on troubleshooting.
• Capability to maintain a professional demeanor and engage with customers at all levels, from electricians to C-suite executives.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Proven extensive experience working with substations and substation equipment.
• Familiarity with GE Vernova and other brands of Monitoring and Diagnostics products.
• Understanding of transformer and circuit breaker failure modes, DGA gas diagnostics, bushing diagnostics, and partial discharge.
• Significant experience with SCADA protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, and IEC 61850; knowledge of MQTT is an advantage.
• Awareness of communication topologies.
• Ability to create solutions for customer data integration and cybersecurity requirements.
• Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.
