Paralegal Supervisor – Removal Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee and cultivate the removal defense legal support team.

• Facilitate weekly one-on-one meetings to offer coaching, feedback, and manage performance.

• Assess training requirements for removal defense processes and organize skill enhancement.

• Conduct performance evaluations and engage with firm leadership on team-related issues.

• Ensure adherence to EOIR/ICE filing protocols, hearing preparation, and calendar workflow checklists.

• Review work quality, monitor KPIs, and pinpoint process inefficiencies.

• Suggest operational enhancements to management.

• Handle escalated client calls with empathy and skillful de-escalation.

• Provide immediate assistance during challenging client interactions.

• Address operational and client service challenges at the supervisory level, reducing unnecessary attorney involvement.

• Allow attorneys to concentrate on trial preparation and legal strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience managing teams of 5–10 individuals in fast-paced, deadline-oriented settings.

• 3–5 years of expertise in immigration law, EOIR, or removal defense.

• Demonstrated success in coaching, developing, and holding team members accountable through one-on-ones, performance assessments, and challenging discussions.

• Strong grasp of enforcing checklists, SOPs, and quality control systems in compliance-sensitive environments.

• High emotional intelligence, resilience, and proficiency in conflict resolution.

• Mission-oriented approach focused on serving immigrant communities.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is mandatory, with native or professional fluency.

• Availability to work during Arizona business hours (8 AM–5 PM MST).

• Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated home office are necessary.

• Experience managing bilingual or remote teams is preferred.

• Familiarity with legal case management systems such as Filevine or comparable platforms is a plus.
