This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Represent drivers at police stations who are being investigated for serious and fatal road traffic offences.
• Accompany counsel to Magistrates' Court and Crown Court to support both counsel and clients during criminal proceedings.
• Attend coroner's court alongside counsel for inquests related to fatal road traffic incidents.
• Evaluate and provide advice on evidence.
• Participate in police interviews.
• Prepare briefs for counsel.
• Report findings to insurer clients.
• Conduct witness interviews and draft statements from witnesses.
• Oversee the financial management of your caseload, ensuring regular billing.
• Strive to meet productivity, fee income, and client KPI targets.
• Manage a diverse workload in alignment with client protocols.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
• Adhere to the firm's billing and credit-control procedures.
• Foster awareness of the firm's additional services and cultivate both internal and external networks.
• Stay informed about the firm's strategies and objectives.
• Enhance and maintain technical expertise while managing confidential information in compliance with data-security protocols.
• A skilled and experienced lawyer.
• Police station accredited.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in criminal litigation.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage appropriately and sensitively with drivers involved in serious and fatal road traffic incidents.
• Capable of meeting and surpassing budgetary expectations regarding both time and fee income.
• Proactive and dynamic with a determined approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Willingness to work outside of regular hours as necessary for police station attendance.
• Ability to achieve productivity and fee income targets, client Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and adhere to stringent quality standards.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to sharing knowledge and working with colleagues of varying experience across different locations and practice groups.
• Must possess a full driving licence and be open to travel.
