Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Engage with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects.

• Draft legal documents, which include routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; ensure motions and pleadings are filed in accordance with judicial procedures.

• Conduct research and analysis of statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal resources; provide written analyses to attorneys.

• Interview clients and witnesses, preparing summaries of their statements.

• Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, encompassing evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other relevant items.

• Support attorneys with trial preparation, including attending trials and hearings.

• Develop and maintain records of billable hours allocated to specific cases.

• Organize, enter, and cross-reference documents within a computerized database.

• Prepare discovery requests and responses.

• Assist general counsel with special projects as assigned.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of legal terminology and principles, research methodologies, court pleadings and processes, and other related areas.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.

• Capacity to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion and sound judgment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

• Possession of a Paralegal Certificate.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred.
