Packaging Print Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with category specialists on color printing tests, development of color matching, and approval of samples across multiple sites.

• Assess manufacturing capabilities and supply samples for team approval.

• Co-create consistent formulas for inks and foils to standardize processes throughout the supply chain, enhancing quality and efficiency.

• Assist with printing for category accessories and oversee press approvals.

• Engage in both domestic and international PRQ press inspections.

• Standardize color specifications across various suppliers and provide expert color assessments.

• Approve official acceptable color benchmarks.

• Address on-site printing issues and provide prompt feedback and approvals.

• Clearly articulate judgment rationale to internal teams and vendors.

• Monitor print deliverables against established timelines and identify workflow risks.

• Manage approved color samples and data for each vendor; ensure validation and replenishment of samples before expiration.

• Carry out spot color qualification for secondary and tertiary suppliers as required.

• Work with SQE to supply approved color ranges and benchmarks.

• Take part in long-term supplier maintenance programs that cover areas such as pre-press, ink mixing, printing, and finishing.

• Oversee the implementation of corrective actions by suppliers.

• Conduct standardized supply-chain tests, including Press Characterization, and prepare reports in accordance with packaging SQE guidelines.

• Aid in the development of standardized procedures and facilitate their thorough implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in consumer electronics or FMCG packaging and labeling, with a background in project management.

• Comprehensive understanding of pre-press processes, complete printing workflows, inks, adhesives, print decoration, and finishing techniques.

• Ability to detect minor color variations and provide on-site adjustment recommendations to printers.

• Exceptional attention to detail; skilled at managing multiple concurrent projects, tracking milestones and deliverables, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Innovative problem-solving skills; adaptable and resourceful in managing changes to product specifications and meeting tight deadlines.

• Must be located in Shenzhen or Shanghai.

• Willingness to undertake frequent domestic business trips and up to 50% international travel.

• Profound knowledge of color management and color theory.

• Must achieve a Munsell test score below 5.

• Practical experience in press color approval.

• Capability to guide suppliers in identifying root causes utilizing professional pre-press and printing expertise.

• Strong comprehension of premium print quality standards with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficient in reading and writing English; conversational English is necessary for team interactions.
