Outside Property Associate, Claim Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Engage in organized virtual, classroom, and hands-on training sessions focused on insurance policies, claims processes, systems, and procedures.

• Examine, investigate, and document first-party property claims under close supervision.

• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party service providers.

• Investigate and assess pertinent facts and documents, such as leases, contracts, and by-laws.

• Determine and apply coverage for building damages in accordance with policy terms.

• Establish precise scopes of building and contents damages for written or computer-assisted estimates.

• Communicate promptly and professionally with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders.

• Keep accurate records of claim activities in claims management systems.

• Adapt to new technology implementations, system upgrades, and the rollout of digital tools.

• Participate in catastrophe response deployments.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of customer service experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree is considered an ideal qualification.

• Prior internship or work experience in customer service or insurance is preferred.

• Willingness to acquire an active adjuster license as required by state law.

• Valid driver's license is necessary.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Eagerness to learn claims management and estimating software.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions within established authority.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Basic conflict resolution capabilities.

• Ability to access and inspect all areas of properties or structures, carry, set up, and climb a ladder weighing between 38 to 49 pounds, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces.

• Must reside within the designated Allegheny County/Pittsburgh, PA area.

• Insurance license(s) typically need to be obtained within three months of starting the position, where necessary.

• Ability to participate in the Catastrophe Response Program and deploy to assist customers in other states.

• Demonstrated willingness to engage in continuous learning, including advancements in AI and digital transformation.
