Outside Property Associate, Claim Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Engage in structured virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training that addresses insurance policies, claims processes, systems, and procedures.

• Review, investigate, and document first-party property claims under close supervision.

• Collect information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.

• Investigate and assess pertinent facts and documents, including leases, contracts, and by-laws.

• Determine and apply coverage for building damages in accordance with policy terms.

• Establish precise scopes of building and contents damage for written or computer-assisted estimates.

• Communicate promptly and professionally with customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders.

• Keep accurate records of claim activity within claim management systems.

• Adapt to AI, digital transformation, technological implementations, system upgrades, and rollouts of digital tools.

• Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program, which may include deployment to other states.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.

• At least one year of customer service experience.

• A valid driver's license.

• A Bachelor’s Degree is considered an ideal qualification.

• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or within the insurance industry.

• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license as required by state law.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Openness to learning claims management and estimating software.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions within established authority.

• Exceptional customer service skills.

• Attention to detail and organizational capabilities; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Basic conflict resolution skills.

• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning.

• Capability to access and inspect all areas of dwellings or structures, carry, set up, and climb a 38- to 49-pound ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces.

• Must reside within the assigned Columbia County, PA territory.

• Insurance license(s) must generally be acquired within three months of starting, where required.
