This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Conduct inspections and evaluations of vehicle damage resulting from accidents, weather incidents, or other covered losses through both virtual and on-site assessments.
• Execute reviews of estimates and work in partnership with repair facilities to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and quality in claims.
• Generate repair estimates utilizing industry-standard estimating software.
• Assess and resolve vehicle total losses by determining actual cash value through market analysis and valuation tools.
• Negotiate repair expenses and settlements with body shops, customers, and third-party claimants.
• Recognize and document pre-existing damage, previous repairs, and signs of potential fraud.
• Collaborate with claim representatives, body shops, and vendors to facilitate repairs and resolve any coverage or repair-related issues.
• Clarify the appraisal process, respond to inquiries, and keep vehicle owners updated throughout the claims process.
• Adapt to the implementation of new technologies, system upgrades, and the rollout of AI-related digital tools.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Active adjuster license, if applicable.
• Two years of experience in auto physical damage appraisal.
• Proficient in claims management and estimating software.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven conflict resolution skills.
• Capacity to handle stress and maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
• Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements.
• Ability to quickly learn from experiences and apply knowledge to new scenarios.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year of experience in auto physical damage appraisal or related claim experience, or successful completion of the Travelers Claim Representative training program.
• Valid driver's license.
