OTSD Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Execute thorough OTDR testing on fiber optic cables to detect faults, splices, bends, and other irregularities.

• Analyze technical schematics and blueprints pertinent to fiber optic installation and maintenance.

• Employ hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and soldering equipment for assembly and repair operations.

• Conduct quality control and assurance inspections utilizing ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing (RT), penetrant testing techniques, and steel magnetic particle inspection (MPI).

• Gather and evaluate data from tests to gauge network performance and resolve issues effectively.

• Maintain comprehensive records of test outcomes, inspection reports, and equipment calibration logs in accordance with ASME codes & standards.

• Rigorously follow safety protocols during all testing activities to ensure a secure working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with non-destructive testing methods, including ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing (RT), penetrant testing, magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and X-ray inspection techniques.

• Strong mechanical understanding with the capability to accurately interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics.

• Familiarity with surface mount technology (SMT), manufacturing processes, and quality inspection standards.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications for data collection, reporting, and documentation purposes.

• Knowledge of engineering testing procedures specific to aircraft non-destructive testing is advantageous.

• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to effectively interpret technical drawings and schematics.

• Proficient in using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, soldering irons, and other assembly equipment.

• Capability to adhere to strict safety protocols while conducting equipment testing in line with industry standards.
