This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Design, implement, configure, manage, patch, upgrade, and sustain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Establish database frameworks, documentation, long-term needs, operational protocols, and security measures.
• Oversee database backup and recovery operations.
• Specify data repository needs, data dictionaries, and data warehousing requirements.
• Enhance database access and allocate resources for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Drive initiatives for availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Provide support for multiple services and databases with various concurrent users.
• Monitor and fine-tune Oracle and SQL Server performance, focusing on query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and capacity management.
• Lead technical projects and offer mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Automate database administration duties through scripting, scheduling, monitoring, and maintenance workflows.
• Assist with organizational activities and initiatives.
• U.S. Citizenship and residency are mandatory.
• BA/BS degree with 6–8 years of pertinent experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database design, administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Proven capability to lead technical projects and mentor junior personnel.
• Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments, including Oracle Data Guard, RAC, SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), replication, log shipping, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Experience with installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and managing Microsoft SQL Server versions 2016/2019/2022 or later.
• Proficiency in SQL Server security, database backup and recovery, maintenance plans, SQL Server Agent, monitoring tools, and database migration tasks.
• Experience in performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and resolving database performance issues in both Oracle and SQL Server environments.
