Microsoft Purview Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Develop, execute, and evaluate data governance and compliance policies, which encompass data classification, labeling, and DLP protocols.

• Assess and refine policies to ensure alignment with regulatory standards.

• Implement and configure Microsoft Purview along with integrated Microsoft 365 services.

• Oversee and manage role groups, custom roles, and permissions within the Purview portal.

• Safeguard sensitive data against both internal and external threats.

• Establish information protection and insider risk management strategies.

• Address data protection incidents and engage in security investigations.

• Manage and facilitate eDiscovery processes, including data collection, searching, and exporting.

• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, IT, security teams, and business application stakeholders.

• Deliver training and support to users regarding data protection tools and policies.

• Monitor the performance of the Purview service and resolve any issues that arise.

• Perform regular audits and evaluations of data governance practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with over 8 years of progressive experience in IT.

• Must be a US Citizen and capable of obtaining a public trust clearance as per contract stipulations.

• Practical experience in administering Microsoft Purview.

• Comprehensive understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance principles.

• Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP), data classification, and sensitivity labeling.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 environments and associated services, such as Microsoft Entra ID.

• Knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell is advantageous.

• Experience conducting risk assessments and audits.

• Capability to devise and enforce security and compliance policies.

• Outstanding collaboration and communication abilities.
