Oracle Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Develop software solutions in both Windows and Unix environments.

• Customize the Banner CIS product to meet specific needs.

• Create additional applications that enhance the functionality of Banner CIS.

• Build interfaces for both batch processing and online systems.

• Assess the workload for assigned tasks and take responsibility for meeting deadlines and deliverables.

• Evaluate, review, and refine programs to enhance operational efficiency.

• Adhere to and enhance software delivery lifecycles, programming standards, and frameworks.

• Initiate new product investment opportunities along with customizations and enhancements requested by clients.

• Engage in peer reviews for requirements and design processes.

• Collaborate with business analysts and end users to clarify and define business requirements.

• Develop both high-level and detailed design specifications that align with user objectives.

• Create development plans and outline necessary steps for program deliverables.

• Provide round-the-clock Tier 3 support for production applications.

• Grasp application business processes and identify potential improvements via technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a PL/SQL Software Developer.

• Over 5 years of experience in Oracle development.

• Proficient in developing and maintaining PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers involving complex queries and extensive file I/O.

• Familiar with Oracle Forms.

• Knowledge of UNIX environments and basic UNIX utilities; AIX experience is advantageous.

• Proficient in using vi or emacs.

• Experienced with tools such as awk, diff, find, grep, sed, and tar.

• Familiarity with Oracle IDEs like SQL Developer, PL/SQL Developer, or T.O.A.D.

• Skilled in UNIX shell scripting (sh, ksh).

• Strong documentation skills in English.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.

• Capable of understanding and adhering to established procedures.

• Ability to make informed decisions through critical reasoning.

• Skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines.

• Strong written, reading comprehension, listening, and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team and foster effective working relationships.

• Competent in conflict management.

• Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service.

• Comfortable working as part of a remote distributed team.

• Experience with Banner CIS is a plus.

• Knowledge of Oracle Reports, Pro*C or C/C++, and Pro*COBOL is advantageous.
