This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct daily administration, monitoring, maintenance, and health assessments of Oracle databases.
• Design and oversee maintenance schedules, job timelines, and database housekeeping procedures.
• Perform and verify backups, restorations, and recovery processes to guarantee data integrity.
• Implement patching, version upgrades, and configuration modifications across various environments.
• Assist with schema modifications, index optimization, table upkeep, and data structure improvements.
• Diagnose performance issues, query slowdowns, and system errors in development, testing, and production settings.
• Uphold auditing, logging, encryption, and access controls in compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Record database configurations, operational methodologies, and environmental baselines.
• Partner with development teams to verify stored procedures, queries, and database interactions.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to address vulnerabilities, STIG findings, and compliance discrepancies.
• Aid in release cycles, refreshes, data migrations, and synchronization of environments.
• Offer suggestions for performance enhancement, storage efficiency, and operational productivity.
• Must possess an active Top Secret clearance, backed by a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration.
• Demonstrated experience with daily maintenance, patching, tuning, and operational monitoring.
• Proven experience supporting database functions across development, test, and production environments.
• Expertise in indexing, performance troubleshooting of queries, and schema management.
• Experience implementing DoD security requirements in Oracle database systems.
• Strong proficiency with Oracle Database technologies and administration tools.
• Understanding of RMF controls, STIGs, encryption, and access control implementations.
• Skilled in SQL, PL/SQL, indexing methodologies, and query optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with backup and recovery tools, RMAN, and Oracle data utilities.
• Experience using monitoring platforms and performance analytics.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Oracle Database Administrator certification (OCA, OCP, or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Experience with IL5 cloud-hosted database environments.
• Experience supporting CI/CD or DevSecOps workflows that involve database modifications.
• Familiarity with other relational database systems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for Oracle database challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical teams.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation practices.
• Capability to handle multiple tasks across distributed environments.
• Dedication to secure, stable, and optimized database operations.
• Work arrangement is fully remote.
