This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary point of contact for managed service engagements.
• Ensure the performance, availability, and security of production Oracle databases.
• Enhance production systems for optimal efficiency.
• Contribute to the development of a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offering.
• Support operations related to backup, recovery, and database maintenance.
• Assist with the installation, patching, and upgrading of databases.
• Adhere to ITSM/ITIL processes for incident, request, and change management.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation.
• Help with automation tasks utilizing SQL, Shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell.
• Acquire knowledge and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions under the mentorship of senior DBAs.
• Collect and analyze fundamental database performance metrics.
• Assist in generating reports on database availability, capacity, and backup success.
• Collaborate directly with enterprise clients and Datavail DBAs.
• Utilize AI tools for research, documentation, troubleshooting, scripting assistance, and enhancing operational efficiency.
• Proven experience as an Oracle DBA / Oracle database administration.
• Proficient in backup and recovery, performance monitoring, patching, upgrades, and high availability technologies such as RAC and Data Guard.
• Familiarity with OEM, RMAN, cloud platforms (AWS, OCI, or Azure), as well as scripting and automation is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and effective communication skills.
• Must possess or acquire an AWS Associate Solutions Architect certification within the first 12 months of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status is required due to ITAR regulations.
• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience is necessary.
• Oracle Database certification or relevant coursework is preferred.
• Certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or OCI Foundations are preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in supporting Oracle databases, which can include academic, internship, or professional experience.
• Understanding of Oracle Database concepts and architecture is essential.
• Familiarity with Oracle Database versions 11g through 23ai is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows administration is required.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and cloud platforms is preferred.
• Background in database monitoring and routine maintenance is advantageous.
• Understanding of RMAN backup and recovery principles is necessary.
• Experience in installing, patching, or upgrading Oracle databases is required.
• Familiarity with Oracle security concepts, user management, and privileges is a plus.
• Knowledge of database health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance analysis is essential.
• Proficiency in SQL development and troubleshooting is required.
• Understanding of indexes, statistics, and query execution plans is important.
• Ability to identify and escalate database performance issues is necessary.
• Familiarity with Oracle performance monitoring tools and reports is beneficial.
• Experience with SQL, Shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell for automation is preferred.
• Understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes is necessary.
• A basic understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity and development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms is advantageous.
