Database Management Systems and Database Administration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee, manage, and provide assistance for Database Management Systems (DBMSs)

• Guarantee database availability, integrity, security, and performance

• Evaluate and enhance SQL queries to boost performance

• Track application performance across development, testing, and production environments

• Suggest enhancements to data models for improved performance

• Execute data loading and migration across various environments

• Analyze the effects of database modifications and recommend technical solutions

• Assist in the implementation of database administration strategies

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience as a Database Administrator (DBA)

• Background in administering and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMSs)

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and query optimization (performance tuning)

• Experience with relational and multidimensional database models

• Understanding of ETL tools and processes

• Familiarity with relational, analytical, and NoSQL databases

• Knowledge of DDL, DML, and DCL

• Experience in table partitioning techniques

• Background working with very large databases (VLDBs)

• Capability to conduct impact analyses and implement changes within database environments

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a degree in any field with a postgraduate certificate in Information Technology, totaling a minimum of 360 hours

• Certification in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, IBM DB2, SAP ASE, SAP IQ, or MySQL is advantageous

• Professional experience managing DBMSs in production settings

• Proven track record in analyzing and optimizing SQL query performance (query tuning)

• Experience with relational data modeling

• Familiarity with high-volume databases (VLDBs)

• Experience with SAP PowerDesigner or a similar data modeling tool
