This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle databases (19c and later) in development, test, and production environments.
• Plan and carry out migrations of Oracle databases from on-premise data centers to cloud environments.
• Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, and post-migration validation processes.
• Optimize database and SQL performance utilizing AWR, ASH, execution plans, indexing, and memory and storage configurations.
• Design and manage backup, recovery, and high availability solutions using RMAN, Data Guard, and RAC.
• Regularly test disaster recovery procedures.
• Secure databases following NIST SP 800-53 controls and DISA STIGs.
• Oversee database accounts and roles, auditing, and encryption utilizing TDE.
• Monitor database health using Oracle Enterprise Manager and cloud monitoring tools.
• Address incidents and lead root cause analysis efforts.
• Automate routine administration tasks with Bash, Python, and PL/SQL scripts.
• Assist application teams with schema modifications, releases, and data corrections through change control processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and contributions to system security plans.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, application teams, and cybersecurity personnel during CBP's cloud migration.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust background investigation.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Oracle database administration supporting production systems.
• Hands-on proficiency with Oracle 19c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and ASM.
• Demonstrated experience in performance tuning, including SQL tuning and AWR/ASH analysis.
• Experience with migrating Oracle databases across environments, including cloud transitions.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred; equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Availability to work remotely during East Coast hours and travel approximately once per quarter.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is desirable.
• AWS certification is a plus.
• Experience with Amazon RDS for Oracle, Oracle on Amazon EC2, AWS Database Migration Service, or Oracle GoldenGate is preferred.
• Experience with PostgreSQL or migrating workloads from Oracle to open-source databases is advantageous.
• Background in supporting DHS or CBP systems, or other federal agencies under an ATO is preferred.
• A current DHS Public Trust is desirable.
• Flexible remote work arrangement aligned with East Coast working hours.
• Travel required approximately once per quarter.
