Oracle Apps DBA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Administer and provide support for Oracle E-Business Suite R12/R12.2 environments across Development, Testing, UAT, and Production.

• Oversee the Oracle Database environments that underpin EBS.

• Conduct installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and maintenance of the EBS application and database.

• Implement EBS online patching through ADOP, along with database/application patching using OPatch and relevant Oracle utilities.

• Perform EBS cloning, environment refreshes, database refreshes, and configuration-related tasks.

• Manage Oracle EBS application tier components, including Apache/OHS, WebLogic, Concurrent Managers, Forms, Reports, and application services.

• Monitor the health of applications and databases, proactively identifying performance and capacity challenges.

• Execute database performance tuning, which includes SQL tuning, AWR/ASH analysis, indexing, statistics, and resource utilization assessment.

• Oversee RMAN backup, restore, and recovery processes.

• Provide support for Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard environments to ensure high availability and disaster recovery.

• Engage in DR planning, DR testing, failover/switchover activities, and recovery validation.

• Troubleshoot critical production issues across the EBS application tier, database tier, and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Oracle Support and create/manage Oracle SRs as necessary.

• Assist in security hardening, access controls, database configuration, and vulnerability remediation.

• Automate repetitive administration and monitoring tasks utilizing Shell/Unix scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL.

• Support EBS integrations and technical dependencies with Hyperion/EPM, SOA, Fusion, WebCenter, and other enterprise applications.

• Assist with Vertex tax integration with Oracle EBS where applicable.

• Take part in application upgrades, migrations, and OCI-related infrastructure projects.

• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and environment diagrams.

• Participate in production support and provide on-call/after-hours assistance as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Oracle Database / Oracle Apps DBA positions.

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12/R12.2.

• In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database 12c/19c or later.

• Practical experience with EBS Patching (ADOP, ADPATCH, OPatch), EBS Cloning, AutoConfig, administration of Concurrent Managers, database refreshes, RMAN backup/recovery, and Data Pump.

• Expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with AWR, ASH, SQL tuning, and database diagnostics.

• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.

• Proficient in Linux/Unix administration and Shell scripting.

• Experience in supporting high-availability and production environments.

• Preferred experience with Oracle EBS Financials modules such as GL, AP, and AR.

• Highly desirable experience with OCI or other cloud infrastructures.

• Experience in Oracle Hyperion/EPM administration or technical integration is a plus.

• Familiarity with Oracle SOA Suite / WebLogic is advantageous.

• Experience with Oracle Fusion integration is a plus.

• Knowledge of Vertex Tax integration with Oracle EBS is a plus.

• Familiarity with Oracle WebCenter is a plus.

• Experience with Oracle Exadata is a plus.

• Experience with EBS upgrades, especially from R12.1 to R12.2, is a plus.

• Experience with automation using Python or advanced Shell scripting is a plus.

• Experience supporting enterprise retail environments is a plus.
