Oracle Administrator/Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Provide support for production, testing, and development applications.

• Manage databases in Oracle or SQL Server, as well as Oracle-based ERP applications.

• Oversee backup jobs and system alerts, addressing any issues that arise.

• Handle enterprise applications and database management.

• Engage in project-team management activities.

• Install, configure, upgrade, and apply patches to Oracle databases and Banner applications.

• Collaborate with Database Administrators to plan for upgrades and patches.

• Troubleshoot and offer support for campus ERP applications.

• Carry out essential database administration tasks for campus ERP and related technologies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside within a 3-hour commute of Pittsburgh, PA.

• U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only; no sponsorship available.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is highly preferred.

• 2–5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA or Application Administrator supporting database applications.

• Proficient in Oracle Database Administration and Oracle-based ERP Administration.

• Experience in monitoring backup jobs and executing backup strategies.

• Proven track record in developing and implementing upgrade methodologies.

• Project management experience, encompassing research, scope definition, resource and time estimation, and risk analysis.

• Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching Oracle databases and applications.

• Basic SQL skills with experience in migrating database objects.

• Familiarity with basic Shell Scripting.

• Capable of performing fundamental database administration tasks that support campus ERP and related technologies.

• Strong troubleshooting skills for campus ERP applications.

• Ability to link patch fixes with identified functional and technical problems.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, alongside technical writing abilities.

• Aptitude for working independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.

• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to new technologies.
