Operations Manager, R&D Operations – AI Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Director of Operations in ensuring that workflows, resources, and projects remain on schedule.

• Monitor and report on operational KPIs, highlight performance discrepancies, and aid in implementing corrective measures.

• Aid in managing operational budgets, systems, and vendor relationships.

• Discover, design, and execute practical AI opportunities.

• Facilitate the rollout and adoption of AI and automation tools through documentation, training, and hands-on support.

• Identify and rank AI use cases linked to measurable outcomes.

• Deliver quick wins and establish repeatable processes for tracking and enhancing AI solutions.

• Ensure that AI tools and agents utilize accurate, up-to-date, and suitable information.

• Maintain communication with stakeholders to ensure AI agents and workflows adapt to evolving data and processes.

• Analyze and enhance operational processes while identifying automation prospects.

• Support R&D and Engineering AI initiatives, including reporting and data quality assurance.

• Document processes, tools, and standard operating procedures thoroughly.

• Oversee and monitor system integrations and coordinate requests for AI agents.

• Develop and sustain R&D and Engineering metrics and reporting systems.

• Assess development and work-management data concerning delivery, capacity, workflow health, and trends.

• Audit business and operational data for precision and resolve discrepancies.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly analytics reports for the Director and senior leadership.

• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate with the Director of Operations and other Operations Managers.

• Provide documentation, support, and training for internal users.

• Uphold responsible-use, data privacy, quality, security, and compliance controls.

• Identify and escalate operational risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Analytics, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in business operations, R&D or engineering operations, analytics, business systems, program management, AI enablement, or a similar area.

• Practical experience utilizing generative AI tools to create or enhance business workflows, reporting, analysis, or internal processes.

• Proven experience collaborating cross-functionally with technical teams and translating operational requirements into practical solutions.

• Experience working with operational data to generate meaningful reports, recommendations, or process enhancements.

• Proven track record in partnering with Engineering and R&D stakeholders.

• Experience in developing and maintaining R&D metrics and reporting.

• Expertise in analyzing operational and development data.

• Proficient in using SQL, spreadsheets, reporting platforms, or BI tools.

• Experience in building, configuring, training, testing, and refining AI agents or AI-assisted workflows.

• Strong working knowledge of Claude.

• Ability to assess AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, and context appropriateness.

• Experience with prompt design, context management, source-data refinement, testing, and feedback.

• Understanding of hallucination risks and strategies to improve AI output reliability.

• Experience designing AI workflows that involve human review or approval.

• Experience collaborating with software engineering, product, technical, or R&D teams.

• Ability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management.

• Familiarity with systems, tools, and business processes.

• Availability for occasional early or late calls to coordinate with colleagues in New Zealand.
